I don’t know how true this is but apparently gas stations are rigging their gas pumps to give you LESS gas than you’re paying for.
For example: Let’s say you know your car tank is only 10 gallons. If the price of gas is $3.00 (I wish…) then when your gas should get full at $30. However, some people have been noticing that it’s costing them more than usual to fill their tanks because some stations around the nation have calibrated their pumps to run differently. So if we use the same assumption (10 gallon tank and $3.00/gallon gas) and you pump your petro, stop at 10 gallons EXACTLY, and your bill is not coming up to show $30 but actually MORE than $30 you are getting shafted. Hard. No lube.
So let’s all employ the 10 GALLON rule! Put 10 gallons in your car and STOP! If the price isn’t exactly 10 times what you’re supposed to be paying then call the State’s Agricultural Department and report that gas station!
Again, I don’t know if this stuff is really happening but I think it’s atleast worth a look…
